AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF RESEARCH WE HAVE, FINALLY, COMPLETED THE UNDERWATER VIDEO-TELEPHONE CABLE TRANSMISSION, IN FULL TWO-PARTY LINE, HIGH PERFORMANCES THE LPM VIDEO-TELEPHONE COMBINES "LUNA PRO" TELEVISION-CA-MERA WITH ULTRABRIGHT LEDS (LIGHT POWER: 12x 50.000 mcd) AND WITH A SPECIAL AUDIO CARD. THE WHOLE THING HAS AN ULTRA-REDUCED SIZE. The size of this underwater device is only 130 mm in length, with a diameter of 48 mm. The compact surface-control-box, instead, is only 240 mm large and 140 mm deep. THIS COMBINED SYSTEM ALLOWS UNDERWATER FILMING, AND YOU CAN DIRECTLY VIEW IT ON YOUR SURFACE-MONITOR (ex. installed on a boat). AT THE SAME TIME IT PROVIDES PERFECT COMMUNICATION, IN full two-party line, BETWEEN SCUBA DIVER AND SURFACE UNIT (full two-party line means that communication, between the two interlocutors, is always nonstop, simultaneous and on either sides, the way it happens, normally, with your telephone, at home. The other types of underwater telephones, instead, use the limited system of "alternate speaking and listening "). AS FOR VIDEO/AUDIO SIGNAL, THERE IS JUST ONE UMBILICAL CABLE (blue coloured) BETWEEN SURFACE UNIT AND SCUBA DIVER The technology employed for underwater sound amplification is the “Bone Conduction” type (exactly the same used by some Companies to make hearing aids for the deaf). The system is made up by a mastoidal retro-auricular device. Through this you will receive the voice up and clearly. It will be fitted in the hood of the wet suit, not necessarily touching outer ear. Scuba diver will be able to listen to his surface-teammate’s voice definitely up and clearly, even where scuba diver’s work has to be carried out in a highly noisy environment (ex. below ships’ bottoms, in harbours, or wherever there is hard work ongoing on ships). As for the communication with surface-personnel, instead, scuba diver makes use of a special laringophone. All this with the purpose of monitoring depth quickly, with your boat standing still or in motion. When LPM VIDEO-TELEPHONE is installed on the trailer, this can be adjusted in the most convenient position. For instance, if you want to check an underwater pipeline, you can adjust it sideways, with no inconvenience, while travelling by sea, parallel to the pipeline itself (see technical schedule of LUNA PRO). JUST LIKE LUNA PRO, LPM VIDEO-TELEPHONE CAN BE USED ON OUR “VECTOR” OR “CONCORDE” TRAILERS As regards to the pictures and the maximum distance from the object where you can make your videos, it all depends on the clearness of water. What human eye can see, the same can the camera, always perfectly focused from 5 cm to the infinity. Our latest concept card-telecamera, employed by LPM, is in high-definition colour, with 420 horizontal lines. Its powerful electronic shutter ensures sharp images, even with a 200 metres long cable, while wide-angle lens allow a larger field of vision.The LPM supply (12 volts) is delivered by the boat,while consumptions are extremely negligible (only 110-120 mA/h); therefore, by means of just one small 1 Ampere’s battery, you can supply the LPM VIDEO-TELEPHONE for the duration of 9 hours in a row. Its high photosensitivity (0.3 lux) allows video-filming, even 90 metres of depth, avoiding additional illuminator (on a sunny day!!!). At night, instead, LPM can ‘see’ into the dark, thanks to its LED HIGH LIGHT micro movie-projectors generating a peculiar ‘cold light’.
